Two systems, one country
Nepal uses two separate traditional land measurement systems, and neither one is used everywhere. In the hills and the Kathmandu Valley, land is measured in Ropani, Aana, Paisa and Daam. In the Terai plains, it is measured in Bigha, Kattha and Dhur. Both sit alongside the metric system, square metres and hectares, used in official land records and engineering drawings, and square feet, which is common in real estate listings regardless of region.
The two traditional systems are not different names for the same thing. A Ropani and a Kattha are different sizes, from different systems, and converting between them means going through a common unit like square feet or square metres first. That is what the calculator above does automatically.

Why this matters for solar and irrigation sizing
Land area conversion comes up constantly in the feasibility work I do.
